Studio E

Our 700 square foot live room is designed to put musicians face to face. We’re mainly focused on project work but hourly engagements are available by appointment, as is on-site recording. Get in touch!

We believe in capturing performances, and our gear, space and approach reflect that. About our live room:

  • Over 700 square feet / console in the room / lines of sight for all
  • Bespoke and comprehensive acoustic treatment
  • 48 analog inputs (see below) and 40 analog outputs (16 mix buses / 10 stereo monitor mixes / 2 stereo effects sends)
  • Adjoining 120 square foot isolation room
  • Quality PA system (2x QSC K8.2 mains / RCF 702-AS II subwoofer)
  • 100″ projection screen
  • Naturally lit

The live room is organized into a few work areas, each with their own stereo monitor mix:

  • Drums: Yamaha Stage Custom kit (22/10/12/14/16) / Ludwig Supraphonic 6.5″ snare / various Zildjian K cymbals / fun percussion box of mystery
  • Bass: Rupert Neve Designs RNDI to console / pedals / Univox U-1075 tube head (85W, 1970-ish) / Bag End Q10B 4×10 cab
  • Clean: 1979 Rhodes Mark I Stage / Stage One E9 pedal steel / stereo pedals / Radial JDI Duplex DI to console / 2x Fender Twin Reverbs (1966 original / 1995 reissue)
  • Crunch: 1966 Fender Vibro Champ / Orange Tiny Terror TT15H / Vox AC30 CC2 / Vox Night Train NT15H
  • The Organ: 1959 Hammond C3 w/ bass pedals, / Leslie 122 from Chicago Organ Company

With these five stations and another three stereo mixes ready to send to the floor, we’re able to accommodate a wide range of lineups. We keep a stock of AKG K240 headphones handy, and your own headphones/IEMs are welcome of course. Other instruments include a Korg SP-100 keyboard (88 keys, weighted action) for controlling synths and software instruments, and a number of guitars and basses to help you get a sound quickly and comfortably.
